On Monday, February 18, pianists and organ enthusiasts will gather at Pakachoag Church in Auburn for a special event that provides an introduction to the pipe organ as well as the opportunity to build, and then play, a small-scale working model of a pipe organ. Pedals, Pipes, and Pizza is a full-day vacation program for young piano students, ages 11-16, at Pakachoag Church, located at 203 Pakachoag Street in Auburn, and is sponsored by the Worcester Chapter of the American Guild of Organists. The program is free for participants, but advance registration is required – please see below to register by February 17.

10:30-11:00am – Present the Instrument, Part II
A brief overview of the science, history, and music of the pipe organ
11:00-12:00pm – Explore the Instrument (free play)
A chance for each student to try out the pipe organ on their own
12:00-12:30pm – Pizza lunch
12:30-1:00pm – Scholarship Recipient Recital Presentation – Abigail Kelley-Lanser
Brief recital followed by a Q&A session
1:30-3:30pm – OrgelKids kit 
Learn about the mechanics of the pipe organ and build a working model
3:30-4:00pm – Snack/Additional exploration time
